From Traditional Drawing to Digital Goodness

So I while ago I (July 24th to be exact, I was super busy back then) was tasked with turning this scanned piece into a digital one:

I > So, this is just a journal of how I did it. First I trace the basic lines to the best of my ability in Photoshop. I decided to add pressure and vary the line weight to make the object look more interesting using a Bamboo Touch and Pen Tablet:

II > Apply basic colors. Very basic colors:

III > I take a closer look at how the artist add effects to her piece. I use tools such are: Burn, Dodge, Liquidfy, and even the Eye Dropper Tool to pick up colors and use the Brush Tool with a lowered opacity (~30%). Finally, the Pencil Tool to sharpen. Here is the result:

About 4 hours in Photoshop.
Bamboo Touch and Pen Tablet.
